Holy Week Sacred Practices (Click the days for links to details of the practice.)
Maundy Thursday, April 9 Scripture: John 13:1-17 Wash the feet and/or hands of your loved ones or yourself. Prepare a bowl of warm water and dry towel. Slowly submerge their foot/hand in the water, rub them and pour water over them. Dry their foot/hand tenderly in a towel, holding them in prayer and love.
Good Friday, April 10 Engage with the Stations of the Cross through scripture and prayer. Light 12 candles. Read the scripture, follow the prayer prompts, and extinguish a light after each time of prayer.
Easter Sunday, April 12 Scripture: Matthew 28:1-10 Celebrate the new day at 10:30 on your porch or yard to sing "Christ the Lord is Risen Today." Make a small cross out of twigs or construction paper for Holy Week. On Easter and the following weeks, add flowers- living or artfully created to your cross. Easter is alive and hope is sprung no matter where we are or how we worship.
