The United Methodist Women (UMW) of Stevensville UMC invite you to participate in the activities and ministries of the UMW.
UMW has so much to offer ... educational opportunities, fun, fellowship, mission information, spiritual growth...the list is endless.
Come join the fun. Bring a friend to the next UMW meeting. There is no age requirement. You don’t even have to be a United Methodist!
1) The UMW Friday Circle (or group) meets on the second Friday of each month at 1:00 pm. This is a great group that raises funds for a wide-range of local, state, and international mission projects.
2) The UMW Saturday Morning Circle meets on the third Saturday of each month at 9:00 am. The focus of this dynamic group will be the UMW's Four Priority Areas for Social Justice: Climate Justice, Maternal & Child Health, Racial Justice, and Economic Inequality.
On the third Sunday of each month, a different collection is taken for the Food Pantry, a community program in Stevensville.
The Saturday Circle is also taking the lead in promoting the recycling of plastic. Clean plastic items may be taken to the parsonage garage (215 College Street).
The Reading Program encourages members to think critically about current issues through an annual selection of member-reviewed books. It offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your spirituality and to broaden your understanding of our mission work.
The Reading Program Leads to Action! For 140 years, United Methodist Women have been involved in mission that includes prayer, study and action. The Reading Program is a study opportunity, but it should also lead to action. The purpose of the program is to encourage United Methodist Women members to:
Expand understanding of and participation in God’s mission.
Increase sensitivity to all human beings—their needs, interests and concerns.
Encourage critical thinking about issues facing humanity today.
Grow in understanding of Scripture as it relates to Christian faith in contemporary life.
Enhance self-knowledge and act from that knowledge.
Strengthen involvement in local and global Christian mission.
The United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is:
To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ.
To develop a creative supportive fellowship.
To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

ch Each year during Stevensville's Creamery Picnic event (the first full weekend in August), the United Methodist Women raise funds for mission projects through the sale of home-made apple dumplings.
For many in Stevensville, it isn't a Creamery Picnic until they've had their dumpling!
Each fall, the ladies of the UMW put together a fantastic bazaar to continue their mission-oriented fundraising. The bazaar has a lunch area, baked goods, rummage, crafts and a silent auction.
2018 Fall Bazaar will be on November 3.
The Saturday morning UMW Circle invites you to drop off plastics for recycling at the parsonage (215 College St.).
Please: 1. Rinse containers out before bringing them to be recycled. 2. Remove caps (these are not recyclable) from bottles, jugs, etc. 3. Place plastic items in the designated bin. 4. If you don't do the steps above it makes work for someone else.
The UMW encourages the congregation to bring donations for the community food pantry to the church.
